Tri-force has four types of exam available. The subject of basic examination will be the same as the online version ver.2 or later. The exam can be taken in one of two ways, either directly, live at an academy or via movie, submitting the video URL for assessment.
(1) Basic 2nd grade exam

The candidate will demonstrate 25 techniques from the basic curriculum.

(2) Basic 1st grad exam
Eligibility
Blue belt level or higher.
Examination contents
You will be asked to demonstrate 5 lessons from the basic curriculum. Tri-force will notify the candidate of the lessons to be demonstrated one week before exam date.
(3) Advanced exam
Eligibility
Purple belt or higher.

You will be asked to demonstrate 5 lessons from the advanced curriculum.
Tri-force will notify the candidate of the lessons to be demonstrated one week before exam date.
(4) Master exam
Eligibility
Brown belt or higher.
Examination contents
You will be asked to demonstrate 5 lessons from the master curriculum.
Tri-force will notify the candidate of the lessons to be demonstrated one week before exam date.
How to apply?
If your school provides for the live test, please take it in principle. Please confirm the application method at your school.
The following applicants can apply for the test from this page.
1. Members of the HQ directly managed schools who want to take the live test.
2. Applicants who want to take the test of a type not provided at their school
3. Anyone who wants to apply for the video test

Video test method
From using a space in your home, or public gym or the academy’s free time, conduct your examination and then upload the completed video to a server used by yourself, such as YouTube (or similar host) and send the URL link to Tri-force.
Application method
Please submit your registration form from the application form. For Tri-force members, please ensure that you obtain the approval of your branch’s head instructor before you proceed.
Examination fee
6,000 yen (plus tax)
For candidates conducting a live test, please pay on the day.
For candidates conducting a video test, Please pay by credit card via PayPal.

Please read the following notes carefully
Live test
· Please organize and bring a partner in order to conduct the examination.
· Please ensure that both the candidate and partner wear different color gis.
· Demonstrate the technique once the examination official reads the name of the same out.
· Perform each technique conforming to the quick review video demonstration.
· We will evaluate the procedure and form of the technique at the judging.
· It is OK to have a conversation with a partner during demonstration. Please communicate with each other about the starting position and the reactions requested from the partner.
· For each technique please change the angle in order than an accurate assessment can be made.
· The score is evaluated by Good (4 point), Passing (3 point) and Failing (2 point) per technique.
· The passing mark is 75 points or more out of 100 points.
*Taking test movie by yourself is free.
Video test
· Please ensure that both the candidate and partner wear different color gis.
· Please perform the demonstration after the photographer or facilitator has read the technique name.
· Perform each technique conforming to the quick review video demonstration.
· We will evaluate the procedure and form of the technique at the judging.
· It is OK to have a conversation with a partner during demonstration.
· Please communicate with each other about the starting position and the reactions requested from the partner.
· Perform the same technique from one or two different angles. If the details of the technique cannot be confirmed, it will be judged as failing.
· Submit an unedited video.
· The score is evaluated by Good (4 point), Passing (3 point) and Failing (2 point) per technique.
· The passing mark is 75 points or more out of 100 points.
Notice of results
Tri-force will send the results by email within one week. The assessed grade and result will be considered as final.
Certification
A certificate will be given to those who passed the technique exam and be shown their name on the qualified list of the website.
